Whose Slave Are You

Prophetess Dr Mary Lang Marshall, Temple Hills, MD

Catagory: Volume 2, Issue 9 and 10

There are advantages as well as disadvantages in today's society and many people find themselves making the wrong choices.  The right choices are made through the Word and by the leading of the Spirit.  The earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein, Psalm 24:1.  Our greatest choice is to live to glorify our God and to walk in His fullness.

If we are to walk in the "fulness thereof" we must know our Creator, God.  To live and maintain godly principles and lifestyle, our minds must be renewed.  All things are not for the good of man. All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not, I Corinthians 10:23.  Those things that do not edify will carry us into sin.

The book of Genesis reveals the plan God has for His creation.  The earth was created for us, but not without God in mind.  God (the Holy Ghost) is the only One who can guide us through the pitfalls of life.  I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live, Deuteronomy 30:19.  Which will you choose, life or death?

If we choose death, we give Satan access into our lives.  By refusing to accept Truth, we become Satan's slaves.  We create our own prisons when our hands are set to do wicked and perverse things.  In prison you are subjected to all manner of evil.  You are Satan's captive!

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly, John 10:10.  This life is only available to those who accept God's Plan and Purpose.  Jesus was sent so we may have eternal life, free from the bondage of sin and death.  We can actually live above the pressures and the agonies of life.

When we choose to surrender and do the Will of God, we must depend on Gods Power to keep us.  As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter, Romans 8:36.  We are unable to defend ourselves in this wicked and perverse generation.  Sheep follow.  They do not lead.

Being a slave to Satan is being a slave to sin (addiction, lust, lying, deceit--the things of the flesh).  When the enemy leads, he takes us on the backroads of life.  Just like the children of Israel, we will also have a wilderness experience, walking to and fro, guided by the hand of Satan.  The children of Israel were lost for forty years.  However, at the appointed time, they were released from prison.

It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his fathers wife.  And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you, I Corinthians 8:1-2.  Instead of repenting, the Corinthians allowed the church to be opened to works of the enemy.  They allowed flesh to be in control.

The Scripture above is an indictment to the churches.  Why are the churches allowing the enemy to bind them?  God has given His Church gifts and the ability to function at a higher level.  Second Corinthians says the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.  We have authority to cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the Knowledge of God.

The churches need to know Jesus as the Deliverer; He is the only key to freedom.  Repent and turn away from sin.  If not, the churches will be deceived by the tricks of the enemy.  When the churches become serious about pleasing God, the people will be set free.  God's Power and Grace will be poured out in a greater measure.  God will be glorified and He will not share his Glory with man.

When God allows the enemy to work, it is for the purpose of saving man's soul.  All the trials and tribulations he goes through will hopefully bring him to the place of salvation.  When the storm of life arises God will see him through.  Man must have that overshadowing experience with God.  He must be able to relate and to identify with his Creator.  Just a touch from heaven creates an atmosphere for God to manifest through his Spirit.

Jesus is our example for living, not man.  The Word says, Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new, II Corinthians 5:16-17.  We are now alive in Christ Jesus and dead to self and the things of the world.

We must know Jesus as the Christ, not just Savior; the Anointed One; the Deliverer.  We must know Him through the Power of His Resurrection.  We are not in captivity.  We are no longer bound, in chains.  The prison doors are opened and the prisoners are freed by the Power of the Living God.  What God has made free is free indeed.  We must accept our freedom and guard it with our lives, for it is precious.

We must act and look like God, for we are made in the image and the likeness of our Creator.  The time has come for people to make a choice.  The standard has been raised.  We are no longer mere men.  We are the Righteousness of Christ Jesus.  We are new creatures in Christ Jesus and we are over - comers in this world.  We are the head and not the tail.  We are the children of the Most High; and we have eternal life through the Blood of Jesus Christ.  We have the Mind of Christ.

Satan no longer has us bound.  No weapon formed against us shall prosper and every tongue that rises against us we shall condemn.  It's time to rise up and allow the Glory of God to shine upon our countenance (face) and in our lives.  For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind, 2 Timothy 1:7.  Our freedom is in our mouths.  We are slaves to Jesus Christ.

Come forth my child, come forth my bride, for the King of Glory is ready to receive us into His arms.  No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other.  Ye cannot serve God and mammon, Matthew 6:24.

Whose slave are you?

"Miss Mary ", as she is affectionately called, loves the Word of God with all her heart. Jesus Christ is the Lord of her life and He has given her ministry gifts to minister to the body of Christ. Through Praise and Worship she has learned to wait patiently on God. In God's presence she has found joy and peace. Through many hours of prayer, and by the help of The Holy Spirit her faith has grown and she has matured.

As a teacher of the Word, she loves to share the Bible using the gift of Revelation to family and friends. Mary is the founder and author of The Holy Ghost Chronicle, a bimonthly newsletter. Also she is a writer of the "Epistles of Christ" magazine, and she is an Anointed Evangelist for Christ.

Mary faithfully, looks unto the Lord (Jesus Christ) for her help. By God's Grace, her life has been redeemed and her body healed many times over. Obedience and continued repentance (from the heart) is the key to wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.
