1. Unconfessed Sin
1 Peter 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord [are] over the righteous, and his ears [are open] unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord [is] against them that do evil.
James 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse [your] hands, [ye] sinners; and purify [your] hearts, [ye] double minded.
2. Carnal, Worldly Motives, Pride
James 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume [it] upon your lusts.
James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
3. Lack of Faith
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
4. Lack of Fellowship
John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
5. Not keeping the Commandments
1 John 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
6. Not asking God's Will
1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 1 John 5:15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
7. Unbelief
Mark 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive [them], and ye shall have [them].
8. Unforgiveness
Mark 11:25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. Mark 11:26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
9. Doubt
James 1:6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. James 1:7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. James 1:8 A double minded man [is] unstable in all his ways.
10. Lack of Perseverance
Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
