I wrote this a while ago but I just thought I would share it with you:
We say we're Christians. We say we long to emulate the love of Christ. We say God is so good to us that we want everyone to know. But is all that really true? Do we only claim Christianity for convenience & it looks good on life's resume.
I'm sick of walking past a crowd of people with my head down, involved in my own little perfect world. How many people have walked past me, dying on the inside. How many people have I seen who look alright on the outside but on the inside their tired of the trials of life & it takes everything to make it through the day.
I walk past and allow them to endure hell on earth, being consumed in the flames of the world. I hold the Answer and I've hid the Key inside me, allowing only myself and others like me to partake of His love. Why is it that my heart doesn't break when walking past those whom I know are doomed to a life of heartache, pain, and hell. Why is it when I see others doing wrong all I do is look in disgust at their carnal actions.
But who am I to pass judgment. If not for God's grace I could be right there with them, crying out on the inside yet seemingly enjoying life on the outside. After sitting out on the sidelines being a "bleacher coach" calling out the shots of how the players" should be playing, when I'm actually supposed to be on the floor playing with the team and help them achieve victory in this life. It is my calling, my job, and my destiny, to help, encourage, love, and steer all I come in contact with to Christ.
Lord, help me carry my burden with compassion and urgency. Give me your heart, eyes, and ears so I may be sensitive to those who need me to point them to you the most.
