A Changed Heart

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings (Jeremiah 17:9-10).
Without the shedding of blood and the resurrection of Jesus, man faced eternal separation. However, man’s destiny was changed by one act of obedience. Man was freed from the penalty of sin and death. The Creator of Life lives in the heart of man. Every man has the potential to house the greatest treasure of a lifetime. It is of great value.
This earthen vessel now possesses life and more abundantly. The heart of man can be changed by the renewing of the mind through the power of the Holy Spirit. In Ezekiel 11:19-20 God said, “...I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh: That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.”
Without the Holy Spirit it was and is impossible for man to carry out God’s will. Man must understand God’s Will for his life. He must work out his own salvation. The work of Jesus is not an option--man must take up his cross and follow Him. Daniel 11:32 says, “…But the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.”
There is no excuse for being ignorant to the things of the Spirit.. As the world’s knowledge increases, so should man’s knowledge of God. The tricks of the Devil and his manipulations of the human mind serve only to blind one’s quest for the Truth.
“A Changed Heart” (true repentance) comes from God, a supernatural insight into the heart of a loving Father. God desires to bring man back to a place of peace and rest in Him, to be reconciled unto the Creator of Life. God called, Jesus acted, and the Holy Spirit came to comfort believers.
Man does not have to live with emptiness and in darkness, because the Holy Spirit was sent to guide him into the Light of Truth. The Holy Spirit was sent to give man a way to that Light. “This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts” (Zechariah 4:6). Man cannot look to himself for the answer. All that ever existed is within God and anything outside of God is unlawful and temporary.
As Christians, we need the Holy Spirit to reveal the intent of our hearts. However, it is up to us to put away those things that so easily beset us. God has given us the power to withstand all the works of the enemy. Our every need has been supplied through the Holy Spirit, in the Name of Jesus.
We must believe that God’s Word is true. The Bible says, “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.” To see Him, we will experience Him; to experience Him, we will know and trust Him. When we begin to know and trust Him, He will establish us in spiritual things. Our minds will be sound and fear will not have a place in us. If we can believe that He is able to do, we must believe that He is willing to do it for us.
“Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled” (Matthew 5:6). “A Changed Heart” (a repentant heart) longs for God’s Presence and waits for His Touch. The more we allow the Holy Spirit to mold us into the image of God, the more we can accomplish for God’s Kingdom. Our fulfillment is in Jesus only.
A believer’s strength to endure depends on God’s interactions in his life. Galatians 6:9 says, “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” In every situation we have an opportunity to change, to have “A Changed Heart.” Change does not happen all at once. It is continuous, from faith to faith.
James 1:3-4 says, “Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” Through trials and tribulation, most do seek to be closer to God. The closer we are to God, the more we become like Christ. A life in Christ Jesus produces love, holiness, honesty, integrity, sanctification and obedience, etc.
Out of the heart the mouth speaks. What is in your heart will eventually manifest. “A Changed Heart” is heavenly-minded and worth more then earthly gold. With hymns and psalms “A Changed Heart” carries a melody of its own. Every day is an opportunity to share the gospel or to encourage others to look up, because the Day of the Lord is at hand. Our Blessed Hope is coming!
Jesus’s love takes away the sting and the hurt of shame and persecution that a child of God endures. Where the life of God exists, death cannot reign. If we linger near the Throne of God our senses are heightened and become more aware of heavenly things. Satan cannot blind those who walk in the Light of God.
When we are born again, we are new creatures in Christ Jesus. Old things are passed away and all things are made new. We are born into the family of God. We are spirit beings. The true child of God cannot be seen through natural eyes, but through spiritual eyes.
God is our Source and not our resource. We look unto Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith. If we need a promotion or an increase, we ask our Father in heaven and He will give it to us freely. The Father of Life is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we could think or ask. Nothing is impossible with God.
“A Changed Heart” cannot live without the Breath of God. It runs to, and not from, His Embrace.
